Express your interest in Creating Caring Communities course and learn about what’s involved with this training. You can start studying and achieve your Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged & Disability) (CHC33015).

Skilling Queenslanders for Work focuses on developing an individual’s skills, supporting them to begin a learning pathway to a Certificate III qualification, and providing direct assistance to Queenslanders that need extra support to enter and stay in the workforce.

What’s involved with the Certificate?

  • Participants will train over 16 weeks
  • The training is for people ages 15 years and over

Youth Connections – Get Set For Work Program

Calling young people aged 15 – 19 years who are not at school.

Join the Youth Connections Project and gain practical skills to enable you to start work.

  • Develop your skills
  • Complete a  Certificate II in Work Skills & Vocational Pathways (FSK20119)
  • Get job ready
  • You will be supported to succeed in the certificate and to find employment.

Homework Program

Chat and Chill at Café 11

Do you need help with your homework? Young people are encouraged to join each week for homework help from our learning centre coordinator. Maggie is able to work with you to understand what homework support is required and offer one-on-one support in a relaxed environment for students to chat and chill.

Get Active Programs

Tai Chi

Weekly Tai Chi at the centre is a fun way to stay healthy in the body and in the mind. Seniors are encouraged to join and meet a group of like-minded group of people in a safe environment. Stay active, keep moving and have fun in the process.

  • Flow into your week every Monday with Tai Chi
  • Class starts at 4pm, Carinity Fassifern Community Centre

 

 

 

Gym Sticks

Would you like to get moving with gym sticks? A gym stick is an innovative fitness tool that combines the exercise stick and resistance bands to provide an overall body workout. You can support your bone density, improve muscle strength and endurance and develop your balance, joint stability and coordination.
  • Gym Sticks is on every Tuesday during the school term
  • Join Tuesdays, 2:45pm, Carinity Fassifern Community Centre

Qi Gong

Qi Gong is a standing form of Chinese self healing meditative movements, using  controlled breathing and slow movement exercises to balance the body’s natural energy within.
